Based on a real scam in which women were strip-searched based on instructions from unknown callers, Compliance forces us to face the darker side of following the rules.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture – The Director’s Edition (1979)

The main cast of the original Star Trek series return in this classic film, the first feature in the storied franchise. When a new alien threat emerges, Captain Kirk is called in along with his crew, to face the foes head on in the newly restored and improved USS Enterprise. This new special edition features enhanced visual effects and a new sound mix, all supervised by legendary director Robert Wise. It’s only available to stream on Paramount Plus and is easily one of the best new streaming movies this week.

All the Old Knives (2022)
Amazon Prime Video – April 8
Amazon hasn’t given this romantic spy thriller much of an ad push, but with a great premise and all-star cast, it could be one of the best new streaming movies this week. Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton star as former CIA colleagues and ex-lovers now at odds with each other when one is tasked with investigating an old case they handled and smoke out a potential informant who was working against the agency.

Amazon Prime Video offers access to thousands of movies and TV shows to stream. That includes great original shows and movies like The Boys and The Tomorrow War. You can also sign up for other premium services within Amazon Prime Video.
Let the Right One In (2008)
Hulu – April 8
A stunning Swedish horror film, Let the Right One In tells the story of a shy, bullied 12-year-old who develops a close friendship with the mysterious girl next door. Soon, though, she confides in him and reveals that she has a dark secret, one that could explain a string of local murders.
April 10 – Netflix
This haunting sleeper hit starring Jake Gyllenhaal is easily one of the best new streaming movies this week. When a disturbed man begins working as a “nightcrawler” for local news services, photographing crime scenes and other nightly news items, he comes to realize he might be able to earn more by stepping out of his position as strictly an observer. Gyllenhaal and director Dan Gilroy later collaborated again on the Netflix original film Velvet Buzzsaw.
